Salt-Out Premium Salt Removal Solution

How To Use:

Mix: 10 oz of Salt Out in 1 gallon of warm to hot water. Use as a pre-spray only.

Application: Dry vacuum first, then apply Salt Out through a pump-up or electric sprayer.

Spread: Saturate all salt embedded area with Salt Out by keeping the spray tip 1" from carpet when applying. The carpet must be saturated and remain wet when extracting Salt Out from the carpet. If the carpet dries out prior to extraction, re-spray with Salt Out and let it dwell again. Don't spray more carpet than you can extract prior to Salt Out drying! Lightly over spray the surrounding carpet and blend during the extraction process.

Dwell Time: Salt Out should be left on the carpet for a minimum of 10 minutes prior to extracting. It is very important that Salt Out has enough time to break down and suspend the salt or calcium chloride for removal. It is recommended to agitate the carpet after spraying.

Agitate: Light amounts of salt residue will need little to no agitation. Just spray, dwell and extract. Moderate to hard crust patches of salt, embedded in the fiber, will require agitating the carpet with a hand brush, brushing machine or a bone scrapper. Once the hardened salt has been loosened spray the area again with Salt Out and allow another 5 minutes of dwell time. Keep in mind that this is specialty cleaning and will require proper attention to instruction.

Extraction: After 10 minutes of dwell time extract the pre-sprayed area and surrounding areas to eliminate definition lines. Salt Out must be rinsed well and neutralized, using a water extractor, with Neutrex Premium Neutralizing Agent by Bluegreen Magic.
Troubleshooting: If the carpet shows minimal response to the process above, it is due to one of the following:
(1) Not enough Salt Out was applied.
(2) Dwell time was less than 10 minutes.
(3) Salt Out dried out before extracting.
(4) Agitation is necessary.
(5) The carpet fiber is imbedded from top to bottom with salt or calcium chloride. Another application of Salt Out is necessary.

Caution: Do not use undiluted. Mix as directed, stronger concentration is not better! Wipe up immediately if Salt Out gets on any surface other than carpet. Salt Out is formulated to use on most types of domestic carpet fiber. Always do a colorfastness test in an inconspicuous area before cleaning. Use a white rag dampened with diluted Salt Out. Lightly blot the carpet in an inconspicuous area. If the carpet dye transfers to the towel, the carpet is not colorfast and you should discontinue use.

Salt Out is designed strictly for salt and calcium chloride removal from carpet. Normal cleaning of nylon and polyester carpet should be done using 6.6 Premium Nylon Carpet Solution or Encaps Premium Carpet Drycleaning Solution, both by Bluegreen Magic. 6.6 and Encaps are designed to remove both organic and petroleum soils from nylon.

First Aid:

Skin Irritation: If contact occurs wash skin with soap and water.

Eye Contact: Flush thoroughly with water for 15 minutes. If irritation persists, contact a physician immediately.

Ingestion: Drink 1 to 2 glasses of water do dilute. Consult a physician immediately.

Inhalation: Prolonged exposure may produce a headache or mucous membrane irritation to people with greater sensitivity to cleaning agents. Seek fresh air.
